
Special Meeting
The Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick will hold a Special Meeting on May 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Four Points Moncton, 40 Lada Ava Blvd, Moncton to consider changes to our PCNB Constitution. The meeting is hosted by co-chairs Veeru Nagalla and Erika Hachey.
The special meeting is open to all current PCNB members “Members” who register by May 20, 2025, and pay the registration fee of $35.00
The process for submissions of proposed constitutional amendments “Amendments” can be done by a Progressive Conservative Registered District Associations “RDAs” (1), or Individual any party members (2) see below.
1. Process to Submit Proposed Constitutional Amendments (RDA)
- RDA – March 19th to April 21st, 2025, RDAs will hold meetings (virtual or face to face) to select Amendment proposals.
- The meetings will be posted on the PCNB events page at https://pcnb.ca/events/
- Proposed Amendments may be brought forward by the RDA Executive, or by any Individual Member, at an RDA meeting called for this purpose.
- All Amendments that gain the support of a majority of voting Members in attendance at the meeting will be forwarded to the Constitutional Revision Committee “CRC”.
- All submissions must be sent to Joanne Saulnier by email Joanne.Saulnier@pcnb.ca no later than 4:30 p.m on April 22, 2025.
- The CRC will review Amendments by April 29, 2025, and determine which Amendments are “in-order”.
- The CRC will present all in-order Amendments to RDA Presidents for review and potential support by April 30, 2025.
- Each RDA President will hold a meeting (can be virtual or in person) to decide whether the RDA will support or not support each individual Amendment.
- RDAs will submit their results to Joanne Saulnier by email to Joanne.Saulnier@pcnb.ca by 4:30 p.m., May 14, 2025.
- Amendments that have net positive support of five (5) RDAs will be presented at the Special Meeting for those registered to vote on;
- For example, if ten (10) ridings support an Amendment and four (4) ridings oppose it, it WILL go to the Special Meeting, as it has a net positive of six (6);
- If ten (10) ridings support an Amendment and six (6) ridings oppose it, it WILL NOT go to the Special Meeting, as it has a net positive of four (4).
- The final list of Amendments to be presented at the Special Meeting will be published May 16, 2025.
2. Process to Submit Proposed Constitutional Amendments (Individual Members)
- Any individual Member may submit an Amendment using the attached form: “Constitutional Amendment Form – Formulaire d’amendement constitutionnel”
- Submissions must be sent to Joanne Saulnier by email to Joanne.Saulnier@pcnb.ca before 4:30 p.m., April 22, 2025.
- All Individual Member submissions will be forwarded to the CRC.
- The CRC will review Amendments by April 29, 2025, and determine which Amendments are “in-order”.
