PC Opposition Leader reaches out to victims of property tax scandal
(Fredericton)- Blaine Higgs is asking New Brunswickers impacted by the Gallant government’s property tax scandal to contact the opposition with their stories and concerns.
“The Premier has now admitted that 100,000 assessments have been impacted by this new technology that was rushed forward at his direction. The cover-up continues to unravel. People are reaching out to us with questions and concerns and we know many more will in the days and weeks to come.”
Higgs says the email addresses will serve property owners and that the use of a drop-box is even more secure and will assist civil servants whose livelihoods have been threatened by the Premier in recent interviews, and who have information to share.
The PC leader went on to say that the use of “old-fashioned snail-mail” will guarantee confidentiality, adding “I’d like to see the Premier’s office try to trace the I.P. address of a paper envelope”.
