Charles (Chuck) Gallagher

Charles (Chuck) Gallagher respectfully represented Carleton County and the riding of Carleton North as a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1970 to 1987.
He served the people of New Brunswick as Minister of Education and Minister responsible for Historical Resources from 1976 to 1982. In 1980 he was appointed Minister of Continuing Education. From 1982 to 1985 he served as Minister of Health and from 1985 to 1987 he was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. From 1991 to1993 he was appointed to sit on the Commission Examining Rural Land Use and Environmental Concerns.
Chuck thoroughly enjoyed his community involvement as member of the Centreville United Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and he was a Rotarian. After his retirement in 1987 he continued to be supportive and active in community events and the PC Party of New Brunswick. Chuck was a friend and mentor to all people and was respected and admired by all who knew him.
